Claremore Christian School (CCS) is super excited about a state program giving TAX CREDITS for donations to the school! Established in 2011, the Oklahoma Equal Opportunity Education Scholarship Act, encourages individuals and businesses to donate to a Scholarship Granting Organization — a nonprofit designated to administer private-school scholarships — and specify the school they want to benefit from the donation. Claremore Christian IS now a member-school!

Donors receive a state income tax credit of 50% of the annual donation amount for a single year’s donations. And, if an individual or business pledges in writing to donate the same amount for two consecutive years, they receive a tax credit of 75% of the donation for both years. Individuals can get tax credits on up to $1,000 donated, married filing jointly, up to $2,000, and business, up to $100,000!

“We can choose a lot of things: where we go to eat, where we play, and even where we work. Finally, this scholarship program helps to give families a choice on where they educate their kids.” said Darick Morton, Director of Engagement and Development at CCS.

Once donors pick the school they want to give to and donate online, scholarship funds are transferred to the specified school (CCS). This is an incredible way to support private school choice, bless underprivileged children in Rogers County, and keep your tax dollars, all at the same time!

“We asked our business accountant why our state tax return showed we had ZERO state income tax owing…she told us that it was because we gave to Claremore Christian School through the Opportunity Scholarship Fund! What a Win-Win!” exclaimed Dr. Ed & Lisa Gilsleider of Animal Medical Center in Claremore.

Thriving on 1055 West Blue Starr Drive in Claremore for 39 years now, CCS has 160+ students. CCS is the ONLY Pre-K – 12 private school in all of Rogers County. Families pay tuition and fees between $4,500 and $5,500 per student, depending on age.

“It’s a way to keep your tax dollars local. You’re paying the same income tax dollars any individual or business would, but this program allows you to give them to CCS!” Morton said.
