DESCRIPTION:Junior Ocieleta believes in the importance of investing in the local community by supporting non-profits and providing scholarships to local students.  You are invited to one of its upcoming fundraiser events.    The annual Make, Bake and Grow event will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Cecilia's Parish Hall, 1304 N. Dorothy, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  This dinner and live auction event has previously been a members-only event, but this year, the organization is opening it up to the public.  The dinner will be a chili bar featuring award-winning chili and everything you can think to top it with!  Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and desserts will also be provided.  There is a $5 suggested donation for the dinner and child care will be provided, so please bring your spouse or significant other.    Professional live auctioneer, Eric Kennedy, will auction off over 20 beautiful gift baskets and items including a beautiful handmade wreath, cake pops tray, grilling spices basket, make-your-own margarita basket, homemade Pinterest items basket, Amish breads and jams basket, chalk paint, brush and more basket and many more to come! SUMMARY:Rogers County Amazing Race for Charity
DESCRIPTION:The fifth annual Amazing Race for Charity is an event is based on the popular CBS show, featuring clues guiding teams throughout Rogers County where they will complete challenges to get a clue to the next location.    Teams are made up of two individuals and have included families, co-workers and friends. The event provides a great opportunity to work together, compete against others and see the sights of Rogers County. The race is open to all ages, with participants under 16 years old partnering with a parent or legal guardian. The race begins at 8:30am at the Claremore Rec Center and lasts until mid-afternoon, culminating with a pizza party at the final location.    The cost to participate is $25 per person. All participants receive an Amazing Race for Charity T-shirt and the top three teams will receive awards. However, the real winners are the athletes on the Rogers County Special Olympics softball team, the Wildcats. With the help of participants, volunteers and local businesses, the Race has donated over $5,000 to the Wildcats to use toward the team’s expenses for the Oklahoma Special Olympics games. SUMMARY:RSU Hillcat Hacker Invitational
DESCRIPTION:The second annual Hillcat Hacker Invitational takes place on the Rogers State University Claremore campus Friday, Nov. 11, as University students, friends and alumni tee off a weekend of RSU Homecoming 2011 events.    The Hillcat Hacker Invitational is a game for everyone. Pros, amateurs and hackers alike can play amidst the hazards of RSU’s scenic campus. The game features a one-of-a-kind 18-hole golf course that takes golfers on a tour of RSU’s historical buildings, monuments and spacious green spaces. Players will use special non-destructive golf balls.Remaining sponsorship opportunities range from a $150 Hole and Tee Box sponsorship to the $2,500 Eagle Sponsor level that includes the sponsor’s logo on the event t-shirts and promotions, signs on two holes, recognition as a presenting sponsor, two teams of four, two recognition announcements during the RSU Homecoming basketball games, two reserved seats and Hillcat Club hospitality access at the games, along with six additional general admissions passes.    The individual entry fee is $50 per player or $200 for a team of four. This includes golf, t-shirt and lunch. RSU students can enter for $25 per player.    Participants will compete in a four-person scramble while navigating around historic RSU landmarks such as Preparatory Hall and the Thomas Jefferson statue.    Trophies will be awarded to the winning team for each flight. Great prizes, including a PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DSi as well as two gift baskets – Hillcat Pride and Around Town – will be given away by the process of a random drawing at the conclusion of the tournament. The event is in conjunction with Hillcat Homecoming 2011 and all proceeds will benefit the RSU Alumni Association and Hillcats athletics.
